1. Generate your API key

  • After installing the plugin, navigate to Dashboard > Settings > SmartFrame Library.
  • Click the Click here to generate an API key link.
  • You will be prompted to log in, after which you will be redirected to the Integration section of your SmartFrame account.

2. Integration

  • In the Integration section, add a name for your API (this is optional), then click the Generate new API access token button.
  • A confirmation popup will appear. Click Copy and Close.
  • Return to the plugin’s settings page in your WordPress admin panel and paste the API key into the appropriate field.
  • Click Save Changes, which should bring up a confirmation message.

3. Start a new post

Start a new post by clicking Add Post. Alternatively, open an existing post where you’d like to add a SmartFrame image. Add a block by clicking the + button, then search for “SmartFrame” in the block search bar.

4. Select SmartFrame

Select SmartFrame, then click Insert SmartFrame image. This will open a dialog where you can search through the SmartFrame Images collection without leaving your page.

5. Browse images

Browse or search for an image, then click Insert into post. This will return you to the WordPress editor with the image embedded in your post. Repeat the process as needed.

Optional: Set a featured image

You can also set a SmartFrame image as your featured image using a similar workflow. In the WordPress editor’s Featured Image panel, select the checkbox labeled Use SmartFrame as featured image. This will display a button that lets you browse and select an image from the SmartFrame library. Alternatively, you can paste a valid embed code directly into the text area below.
