Upcoming integration set to boost image security and presentation for DMLA licensors and creators
New York – 21 February 2020: The Digital Media Licensing Association (DMLA), a trade organization dedicated to protecting the content licensing marketplace, has announced plans to integrate SmartFrame’s unique theft-deterrent technology into its website, to better protect its members’ amazing image content.
The integration, which is part of a broader update to the DMLA’s online portal, will allow the organization to present and protect its members’ images through SmartFrame’s unique image-streaming platform. The service not only allows content owners to encrypt and securely publish their images, but also to control any further dissemination by setting sharing restrictions and blacklisting infringing domains.
“The DMLA believes image creators should determine how and when their content is distributed and shared,” said DMLA President, Geoff Cannon. “SmartFrame’s ability to securely display images, while allowing content to be shared in a controlled manner, epitomizes how digital content should be published. The DMLA is delighted to have access to SmartFrame’s technology to feature members’ great content on our site, and drive home how to present and license content on the internet safely and securely”.
Currently employed by a range of organizations and individual content creators, SmartFrame’s image-streaming platform also furnishes users with data on image views and interactions to help them customize their offering and better understand how people choose to interact with their work. Furthermore, in line with audio and video content-streaming services, the nature of image delivery prohibits any unauthorized access to the copyright holder’s original content.
Rob Sewell, CEO of SmartFrame Technologies Ltd, underlined how SmartFrame’s existing partnership with the DMLA, together with the shared objectives of the two organizations, creates a logical synergy. “Having supported and worked closely with the DMLA for a number of years, SmartFrame is delighted to assist the organization in protecting the imagery on its website, and to help its members ensure all relevant copyright restrictions and licensing agreements are adhered to.”
The DMLA expects the integration to be completed during the second quarter of the year.
