You can use SmartFrame to securely share your images with others using social media, email or by sending them a direct link. This feature allows you to show others your images without giving anyone access to the actual source file. It also protects you from losing rights to your images when they’re shared on social media.

What happens when I share my image using SmartFrame?

When you share your image using SmartFrame, you’re actually only sharing a link to a SmartFrame Image Page – a unique page where your image can be viewed as a SmartFrame – along with a small JPEG thumbnail (you can adjust the size of this thumbnail in the Control section of the admin panel). This means that the original source file is not shared with anyone. On top of that, you can track views, clicks and other interactions which happen on the Image Page the same as you do for the SmartFrames published on your website or external pages.

Sharing images from the admin panel

You can share any image directly from the admin panel by following these simple steps:

1. Open Images section of the panel
2. Click on the three dots icon at the bottom of the image thumbnail (grid view) or on the right side of the row (list view)
3. From the menu, select the “Share” option
4. Select where you want to share your image

If you choose to share the image on social media, a new window will open allowing you to log into your social media account and share content there. If you select to share the image by email, you will be able to do it directly from the SmartFrame admin panel. Alternatively, you can simply copy the direct link to the Image Page and share it in a private message or similar.

Other ways to share a SmartFrame

If you switch on the Share Button in Themes, anyone will be able to use it and share your SmartFrames from where they are published (including the SmartFrame Image Page). By default, they will then be sharing a link to the page where your SmartFrame is published, but you can adjust these settings at any time in the Control section.
