Man City vs Tottenham Hotspur injury news: 8 ruled out and 2 doubtful including Erling Haaland latest
Manchester City’s hope of achieving Champions League qualification were dented at the weekend as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to champions elect Liverpool in a difficult afternoon at the Etihad Stadium.
The eight-time Premier League winners went behind to a masterful set-piece routine which was excellently finished by top scorer Mohamed Salah before Dominik Szoboszlai finished off the contest with a powerful and precise low strike after linking up with Salah.
“It is all over,” concluded Sky Sports’ Roy Keane. “Manchester City have been amazing last few years but you’re looking at Liverpool as the new champions.”
While Jamie Carragher added: “Beating Manchester City home and away is as big a statement as you can make.”

The result allows City to remain in fourth position but now leaves them level on points with Newcastle United, who bounced back from their 4-0 defeat at the Etihad to beat Nottingham Forest in a thrilling 4-3 victory at St James’ Park.
City travel to a resurgent Spurs in their next match and will be wary of the threat posed by an Ange Postecoglou team who demolished them 4-0 at the Etihad in a result which sent shockwaves around the division back in November.

The Lillywhites boss Postecoglou has bemoaned injuries as the reason behind his side’s slump but is now getting closer to naming something resembling his full strength XI.
Ahead of kick-off in what promises to be a pulsating evening of football in North London. We take a look at the latest injury news from inside both camps.
Tottenham Hotspur injury news
Tottenham Hotspur remain without £65m signing Dominic Solanke who is out with a knee injury. He is expected to return to the pitch in early March alongside fellow striker Richarlison, who has had a nightmare with injuries this term.
Centre back pairing Micky van de Ven and Christian Romero are notable absentees at the back, both are scheduled to return in March, with Ange Postecoglou commenting recently: “We’ve got a week before the first Europa game. We’ve got the weekend off. And again, that’s about the time we’re hoping that guys like Romero and Micky, in particular. They should be in and around that sort of mark.”
Forward Timo Werner is thought to be in contention to make a return for the Lillywhites, but the same cannot be said for Radu Dragusin, who is out for the remainder of 2025 after sustaining an ACL injury.

Two-time Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland faces a late fitness test for the trip to the capital after missing the last outing against Liverpool. “[The final decision was made] yesterday after training. He improved, but he did not feel good. I hope [he will be back on Wednesday], but we will see,” said Pep Guardiola when shedding some light on the situation over the weekend.
Defensive duo Manuel Akanji and John Stones also miss the trip to North London along with talented winger Oscar Bobb. Rodri remains hopeful of making a dramatic return to the team before the end of the season following an ACL injury but is still a while away from achieving full fitness.
In other news, Mohamed Salah has praised Manchester City for giving his side a challenging game at the weekend and says the Sky Blues proved they are capable of beating any team. Pep Guardiola also voiced his view on the terms performance and claimed there were a number of positives despite the loss to the league leaders.
