The BusinessCloud MediaTech 50 ranking celebrates the very best media tech creators in the UK – and we’re delighted to have secured a place in this year’s ranking.

Following an initial shortlist of standout names, SmartFrame Technologies claimed 6th place – a significant jump from last year’s 26th placement.

The final ranking was determined by a combination of a judging panel and a public vote held earlier this month. This marks the third consecutive year that SmartFrame Technologies has earned a place on the list.

“It’s been a defining year for SmartFrame,” says Rob Sewell, CEO and Co-Founder of SmartFrame Technologies. “We launched SmartFrame Images – the world’s first library of free, high-quality, embeddable editorial images – which already offers publishers access to more than 55 million rights-cleared images, with millions more added every week. With over 80 companies nominated, our sixth-place finish reflects the team’s achievements over the past year, which included the launch of the official photography libraries for both Manchester City and New Zealand Rugby.

The annual list features some of the most innovative UK startups creating technologies to help transform media and the arts, ranging from imagery, music, podcasts, radio, video, film, and the written word.

The final ranking is brought together through a combination of reader votes and the selections of an expert judging panel.

Being included on this list is a significant accomplishment for the company and demonstrates our commitment to pushing the boundaries of image security, presentation, and licensing.
