Information within the Insights section of the Admin Panel is organized into four reports: Overview, Engagements, Sharing, and Domains.
Data in the first three reports is organized per SmartFrame, which is a combination of an image and a specific URL. Data in the Domains report is organized per domain on which SmartFrames are published.

Overview

This report consists of the most important information about your SmartFrames. Depending on your settings, its details include:

Theme

Implementation

Date activated (UTC)

Last viewed (UTC)

Impressions, as well as Unique user impressions

Engagements, as well as Impressions with engagements and Engagement rate

Download and copy attempts:

Right-clicks and Impressions with right-clicks

Screenshots attempts and Impressions with screenshot attempts

Programmatic theft attempts and Impressions with programmatic theft attempts

Engagements

This report focuses on how your audience interacts with your SmartFrames. It includes data on:

Share button clicks

CTA button clicks (whether this is set to an Embed button or a Custom CTA button)

Full-screen views

Hyper Zoom usage

For all types of engagements, three types of data are available: total number of engagements (for example, Share button clicks); impressions with at least one engagement of a given kind (for example, Impressions with share button clicks); and percentage of impressions where such an engagement occurred (for example, Share button use rate).

Sharing

This report focuses on how the sharing layer within your SmartFrames is being used.
Please keep in mind that SmartFrame is not able to track how many times your SmartFrames have actually been shared on social media; the numbers in this report should be interpreted as the number of clicks on each of the share icons.

Domains

Data in this report is organized per domain on which your SmartFrames appear. This means that the results for all SmartFrames on that particular domain are summed. For each domain, the following data are available:

Pages

Impressions, as well as Unique user impressions

SmartFrames

Engagements, as well as Impressions with engagements and Engagement rate

Organizing the reports

In order to make this information easier to use and more relevant to your needs, you can select which data you want to include in each report.

To do this, click on Insights at top of any page within the Insights section and deselect the columns you wish to exclude. After these settings are saved, you will only see the columns that you have selected.

Blocked embeds, excluded domains, and missing images

You can see blocked SmartFrames and SmartFrames on excluded domains across these reports, as well as SmartFrames with missing images. Please note: the information shown here only applies to the period of time in which the SmartFrame was fully functional, as no new data is received after a SmartFrame has been blocked, a domain has been excluded, or an image has been removed. This information is hidden by default but you can change these settings after clicking on the Insights settings links on top of any page within the Insights section.

Results for both blocked SmartFrames and SmartFrames on excluded domains will be greyed out so you can quickly distinguish these from active embeds. Additionally, in the Overview, Engagements and Sharing reports, there will be a red ‘Blocked’ icon next to the URL of both blocked SmartFrames and SmartFrames on excluded domains. A similar icon will appear next to the domain name in the Domains report if that domain has been excluded. The image preview will not be available either for blocked embeds and SmartFrames on excluded domains.
The post Types of reports appeared first on SmartFrame.

The Insights panel only includes data for images that have been embedded as SmartFrames on at least one occasion. This means you won’t necessarily see information on all the images you have uploaded to the Admin Panel, only the ones that you have embedded as SmartFrame images, either on your own website or elsewhere.

An embedded SmartFrame has to be viewed at least once in order to be activated and trackable. For that reason, even if a SmartFrame has been embedded, information on it might not be available in Insights. To activate it, simply visit the page where it’s embedded and view the embed.

It may take a few hours after activating an embed for it to be visible in Insights. If you find it still isn’t visible after 24 hours, please contact us.

Activating embeds when internal traffic is excluded

If you have excluded your IP from tracking, you won’t be able to activate embeds from that IP. Try opening the page where the SmartFrame is embedded using a different IP to activate the SmartFrames. You can also do this using a VPN client.

The post Activating embeds appeared first on SmartFrame.

In order to gain a more accurate picture of how your SmartFrames are performing, you may wish to filter out traffic coming from your own network.

To do this, head to Insights and click on Insights settings, before adding your IP address to the Exclude internal traffic section and clicking on Save. You can also set a range of IP addresses to filter underneath this section.

<smartframe-embed customer-id="7d0b78d6f830c45ae5fcb6734143ff0d" image-id="HMNCCLk4tZMv" theme="blank-help-center" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; aspect-ratio: 4400/2800; max-width: 4400px;"></smartframe-embed>

You can check your IP address by clicking on What’s my IP address?. If you are a member of a large organization, we recommend you contact your system administrator to set up this filter correctly.

Excluded IPs and activating embeds

In order to track a SmartFrame in Insights, it first needs to be activated. This means that the page on which it’s embedded needs to be opened at least once and the SmartFrame needs to be visible within the viewport.

However, if you visit the page from the excluded IP, this will not activate the SmartFrame and you won’t be able to see it in the reports. In this case, try opening the page using a different IP to activate the SmartFrame. You can also achieve this with a VPN client.

Search

A search field can be found at the top of each Insights report, and this allows you to search for a SmartFrame, either by the image ID or the URL on which it has been published.

If you are looking for more than one SmartFrame, or if you require more advanced search options, it is recommended that you use filters instead.

Filters

The Insights panel contains multiple filtering options to help you search through your data and organize it in a way that’s most relevant to you.

You can find different filtering options at the top of each report, and any filters will be applied to each report, as well as to graphs on the Dashboard.

Date range

When creating reports – and also, when you first log in to the Admin Panel – you’re able to sort results by a selected date range.

Today – data available for the current calendar date*

Yesterday – data for the previous calendar date

Last week – data for the previous calendar week (Monday to Sunday)

Last month – data for the previous calendar month

Last 7 days – data from the last 7 days, including available data for the current day

Last 30 days – data from the last 30 days, including available data for the current day

Last 90 days – data from the last 90 days, including available data for the current day

This year – data for the current year, starting from January 1 and including available data for the current day

Custom date range – select any custom date range (up to 3 years), where data for the selected start and end date are also included

* It may take a few hours after the latest data are visible in Insights. If you cannot see this after 24 hours, please contact us.

Time zones: SmartFrame uses UTC and BST (UTC+1) for all data in Insights.

Theme

This filter allows you to filter data for SmartFrames that use a specific Theme.

To apply it, click on the Themes filter and select the Themes you would like to include in the results.

Implementation

This filter allows you to filter data for SmartFrames based on whether they are published using an embed code or a SmartFrame Web Component.

Metadata

The metadata filter allows you to add one or more filters based on image metadata.

To apply it, select a metadata key and a value used to filter the data, before clicking on Apply. The results will be instantly filtered to only show data for the embeds of the images that match the specified conditions.

For a more precise metadata search, you can use the following search operators:

Exclude words: put – in front of a word you want to leave out, for example, -landscape

Exact match: put a word or phrase inside quotes, for example, “Swiss Alps”

Combine searches: put commas between each search query, for example, mountains, hills

For example, imagine that you only want to see data for images taken by a photographer John Doe. You should select the metadata key Author and type ‘John Doe’ in the metadata value field.

Domain

You can use this filter to search for SmartFrames appearing on your own home sites (onsite, as specified in Account Settings), on the external domains (offsite), or on any specific domains.

Country

You can use this filter to search for data from specific countries, based on the user’s IP.

Sorting

In order to sort data in the Insights report, click on the name of the column by which you want data to be sorted. The first click will sort the data in decreasing order while the second click will sort it in increasing order.

The post Filters and sorting in Insights appeared first on SmartFrame.
